IFAT 2018 adds innovation park
IFAT 2018, the world’s leading trade fair for water, sewage, waste and raw materials management, is scheduled for May 14-18 in Munich. This year’s event features an area called “experience.science.future.,” which is dedicated to science and research, education and training, jobs and careers and startups. It is geared toward thought leaders and young professionals in the environmental industry.
Silvia Fritscher, project manager at IFAT, says the promotion of ideas and young talent is essential, especially in the environmental sector. “With the increasing debate on environmental and climate protection, the demand for qualified specialists and forward-looking innovations is also growing,” she says. “With experience.science.future., let’s answer that demand and connect the smart, up-and-coming minds of the industry.”
Experience.science.future. is located in the middle of IFAT’s trade fair in Hall B4. The area covers more than 1,000 square meters, or nearly 10,800 square feet, and bundles universities, startups, associations and nongovernmental organizations (NGOs). It also offers space for particularly innovative technologies, strategies and research projects in the environmental field, according to the show’s organizer, Meese Munchen.

In a parallel networking lounge, students can learn more about “green” jobs and connect with potential employers.
Exhibitors also can participate with article contributions or in the new job portal, Job and Career@IFAT, which became available online starting in February.
